Harbor is coming home finally today. Doc says he has really healed up amazingly. He ended up keeping him this whole time because he wanted to make sure his leg was stable enough. Check this out...he is only charging me 275.00! total!fing amazing! He says' harbor is the sweetest dog and has kind of stolen all the techs hearts there. He says it's like harbor knows what has been done for him - i know, that's probably just warm fuzzy human bs - but oh well ;D. So now I will be 3 dogs over my HOA limit ha! I can't believe his people never responded -wait, yes I can. Well he isn't going back to HUS or a shelter. Hopefully no drama will ensue between the other dogs - though he is gonna be isolated for awhile . More shenanigans to follow i'm sure.

That's great news!!! Maybe the vet office can help you with finding him a home while he recuperates with you?

I have some questions for everyone concerning Harbor: (he is indeed super sweet)
I am doing the 2 week shutdown thing w him any insights/suggestions from any of you who have done this would be most welcome.
He can walk now but has to be helped up and his leg gives out pretty fast - are there supplements any of you recommend?
He did test today HW positive - a weak positive though. Any alternative treatments to consider vs the traditional shots.
I am going to post some more pics of him tomorrow - I believe he has apbt in him although most would probably put a lab label on him. perhaps Emily, John, or Mary would care to give their opinion (or anyone else).

I kinda saw a houndish look to him at first glance when you first posted the photo. But being behind bars and all sad looking may not be the best view.

Awe poor boy. Hope he gets some muscle back on him. I kind of see where you might be seeing the pit bull in him. His big floppy ears throw me off but I am not a breed id person. Interested in what Mary and John see as well. As he gets better I suppose his behaviors may help in determining what his breed might be. Regardless he is a handsome boy who I expect will have a better life with you.

I don't like guessing just from a few photos, but.... from those photos, he looks more houndy/labby/Great Danishy than pit bull-y. But as CA notes behavior counts too.

I think he looks Hound-ish and Lab-ish, but it's hard to say.

Yes his face does have that Great Dane look, How big is he. It is hard to tell from photos. Hound/lab he appears in the photos.

yeah he is pretty lanky - I think hound and lab is probably right on - he is pretty tall and long. He is taller than perseus - I guess because he is so much skinnier than perseus I though he was smaller and i really hadn't seen him stand and walk. He seems to be getting stronger every day and oh my god he is so sweet - i just can't imagine someone not wanting him. He REALLY loves my wife - he just lights up whenever she enters the room. I mean he is very sweet to me also but I know some dogs, well they just dig chicks ;D. Hopefully we can find him a home where he will be safe forever.
