I rescued a Pit from a Drug House situation. Chance was chained with 6 other pits to a cement wall but got away. The other's were dropped by Animal Control.
This guy is so sweet, loves to give hugs and kisses, adores kids although he's a little over exuberant for little ones. Never met a stranger, and gets along with other animals including kittens. He's around 2 yrs and appears to be close to pure blood if not pure blood (pic available).
Now for the problem, first I live in an area where a lot of dogs run loose some of them very aggressive, so I'm unable to exercise him properly(our yard is small but fenced), second I have several small terriers who have attitude and he feels like he needs to defend himself. Before you think he attacks other dogs, he will only respond if they attack him (specifically other males as he will usually ignore a female who acts aggressive), however several rescues have refused to take him due to this. I have been told by those rescues to euthanize him, yet the lady who does our local rehab says he would be fine in a home with non aggressive (or female) playmates.
I want to find him somewhere else where he can have room to run and not be faced with other dogs who want to jump him constantly. My home is not the optimal place for this dog.

Chance would be better off with someone who has no other pets.

Where are you located? Perhaps we can help you find a local pit bull rescue that will help you find him a new home.

Here's a pic. I do rescue but have exhausted my resources trying to find somewhere for this sweet guy. Right now I'm keeping him separated from my other fosters. Also I've had this guy neutered, he is heartworm neg, and is up to date on rabies.

I am asking around. I don't personally know any rescues near you.

Hi, he sure is a handsome guy. Have you tried working with them one at a time with him.? With a pack leader mentality using sounds to stop the others bad actions towards him and rewarding good acts with a small treat, chicken pieces work well. Letting them know that being calm together gets rewards.
I have 5 dogs and when someone came to the door it was a problem until I stood between them and the door, I claimed the door and with calmness on my part and snacks in hand I told them to stop and each time they stopped I gave a treat and that worked real well.
The only other suggestion I can think of is, if you want to keep him is, getting a hold of Victoria Stilwell-It's Me of The Dog, she has a TV series here now and had one in England. The other suggestion is to get a hold of Cesar Millan-The Dog Whisperer. I incorporate both methods with probably more of Victoria's.
I hope this helps you figure out what to do and it helps some.
I just joined this forum and love it, I love these guys so very much.
Blessings.....
