Hello everyone...my name is Goldie and I live in Maryland with my DH and 9 rescued Pitties. They all live in our house, and all came from rescue or shelter situations. Our oldest is about 7 1/2 and our youngest is about 7 months old. Three are fosters, but I have a feeling that at least two will stay with us, as they are over a year old, and you know how that goes, everyone wants a puppy...
All of my dogs are spayed/neutered. I have 7 females and two males. Our oldest is a male and he is a mastiff/pittie mix, and goes a little over a hundred pounds, but is a big moosh! He is very laid back and makes an excellent example for the new ones that join our family; they learn from him....and he loves them all!
My DH and I are in our 60's; not your "typical" Pittie owner...and we tell people about our dogs every chance we get. I am active in rescue, and will get up on my soapbox at any opportunity to try and educate people about the wonderful qualities of this breed.
All of my dogs, with the exception of Sam, our oldest are crate trained and when we are not home to supervise them, 8 of them are in their crates. We should have stock in the crate companies! One of our dogs was abandoned in the woods and left to starve and die; but managed to get away; when animal control was called, he led them back to his sister, who was also chained and she was so bad off they had to give her a blood transfusion. Because of his trauma, he has separation anxiety, and has trashed three sturdy wire crates. We finally found a crate that will hold him; he only goes bonkers when we leave...otherwise, he is the quietest and sweetest little boy you ever want to meet.
Well, I guess I've introduced myself, sorry for the long post.
