A dog lover from birth, and a child of the 80's who remembers friends not being allowed to come to my house to play because we had two German Shepherds, who recently adopted a 3 year old pittie who had been used as a bait dog. While wasting time on Facebook one day I saw a post about her only having a few hours left before being destroyed. I see these posts constantly and of course, they all break my heart, but something in this little lady's eye, she only has one, and crooked smile, from her jaw being broken and most likely sewn shut, touched me in a deeper way than the rest. So...long story short, I hopped in the car and drove 4 hours to meet and pick up my newest child.
Thankfully, she's WONDERFUL with kids (my youngest is 15 months oldest 15 years) and she has etched herself into our hearts forever. Just to clarify, had she not been kid-friendly I had planned on finding her another loving home with agreed visitation rights.
Happy to be here and look forward to gaining friendships and advice on whatever/whenever. Will post pics when I can when not on my mobile.
