My baby boy made his arrival last night at about 7:30 pm.
It was a pretty crazy and extremely fast birth.. I had contractions start Tuesday night, very weak and far between so didn't think anything of it at the time. Went to my doctor appointment Wednesday afternoon and by then they had gotten stronger (about a 7 on a 1 to 10 pain scale) and he told me they weren't real labor contractions so I just went home and tried relaxing.. couldn't sleep at all that night due to the pain. Come Wednesday, I was in a lot more pain.. I had taken 3 warm/hot baths, drank almost a gallon of water, walked, layed down, etc and absolutely nothing helped. Finally decided to call my docs office when the pain was borderline 10.. they told me to go in and be monitored.
Got to the hospital around 5pm and was hooked up to monitors right away.. the contractions were regular and very strong at this point but I was only dialated to 2cm so I didn't think they'd admit me yet.. I was wrong, turns out baby boy was getting very stressed out and his heart rate was dropping with each contraction. I got transferred to a delivery room and within a half hour had my epidural, not even 10 minutes later they broke my water to try and speed things up.. unfortunately my boy was getting more stressed so I was rushed to surgery for an emergency c section.
So within 3 hours of arriving I had my baby boy. It all happened extremely fast and all the doctors were completely surprised at how calm I had been thru the whole thing lol.
I didn't get to have him with me until almost midnight as he wasn't getting as much oxygen as he should've been but he is doing great now and even just passed his hearing test he's a major sweetheart though.
But here's to introducing baby Ryker into the world
