Hi there, I'm Megan and I have two rescued dogs, Roxy and Buster. Roxy is my glorified mutt and Buster is a Vizsla mix..... I adore them both. Roxy was my first, and she motivated me to get involved in rescue, where I pretty much fell in love with pit bull and bully breed dogs when I began fostering them. Here's a picture of my two knuckleheads! ]

Welcome aboard from northeastern NJ. Your picture made my day. Buster looks like he might be a Vizsla / Scooby mix.

A friend of mine in Jersey calls Buster Scooby all the time!! He definitely has that not-so-smart-but-lovable personality like Scooby does also!!

I'm actually on the meetup group but just haven't been able to make it to a walk yet! Our weekends are usually very hectic but I keep an eye on the walks every week. I've actually been itching to bring Roxy, she loves to hike and although she's dog reactive, she does well on "pack walk" type events with a little management, LAT, and BAT up front. I'd love to bring Buster on one at some point, also, but it would have to be a shorter walk due to his hips. We will get there at some point, I'm sure of it!!

Hi, and welcome! Love that picture of Buster!! He must be a really fun dog to be around. Yes, come to the walks, I'd love to meet you and your dogs, and you can meet one of the stars of RPB, our little Sedona. I say "our" because she belongs to everyone here, I'm just taking care of her.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone! ;D And Dave, Buster is a ton of fun. Every person is his long lost best friend, and he's just a funny, lovable dog. One of his front legs was injured before we adopted him, but he plays fetch like a champ and it just makes him all the more charming We will definitely like to join you guys on the walks, it'll probably only be one dog at a time though. They are both a little special with other dogs and they feed off each other, so they'll have to come individually to work a bit before they'd be ready to come together. Christina, your named looked familiar and I had to figure out why.... we share a group on Facebook, the Truth page, and were members of a previous forum together for a short while! I was "megz" over there.

Yayyy!!
I'm trying to plan a home visit for Sunday for a prospective adopter, but it hasn't been set yet. If that doesn't happen, maybe Roxy and I will be able to finally join you guys on a meetup! We'll see, the HV has to take priority so we don't lose the adopters but if they can't do Sunday, then I would love to finally be able to make it! ;D

Welcome! I am from New York at the Northern NJ Border. I have gone on the hikes too but as of lately my weekends have gotten too busy for me to go plus they are a good hours drive. I do want to try to schedule at least one a month though.

Don't want to hijack thread but Megan what rescue are you affiliated with?

Not a hijack at all I work with Rescue-a-Bull - www.rescue-a-bull.org/ They're an all-foster based rescue that came about in late 2010. I do also foster for a rescue locally, but primarily because Rescue-a-Bull is all foster-based and since both of my dogs are dog-selective, it's very challenging for me to bring a dog home without having them meet my two first. The local rescue has a kennel so I can bring my guys to meet dogs, but the adoption process isn't nearly as stringent and I often wind up doing extra leg-work (research, Q&A, home visits, etc.) myself before placing my fosters.
