Mmm hmm, great. Love all these informative, opinionated blogs from people who've been in Pit Bulls for 2 seconds and love to blast everyone else who've been around the breed for a decade+

Jinx buy me a coke....you tooks the words out of my mouth. I was looking at pics and thought hmm that dog looks young....so then I went on to read the about the us portion.
I do at least appreciate that she said she might not be frequenting dog parks when Athena gets older and grows out of her puppiness.
However, in my opinion the overall tone is one of a bit too much confidence in being able to fully control a young dog in situations with a lot of different variables at play.

Athena also goes to doggie daycare once a week for socialization.

As you read on into the article i can see they are doing what they think is 'responsible' dog park interaction, and I applaud them a bit for that although i disagree. The arrogance that prefaces that though is off putting. Althena and her peeps have also never had their butts in the middle of a for real bulldog fight either. Anybody here at RPBF poke this bear yet?

I take Saxon to one of the dog parks in my town precisely because there are no dogs there. It is the less popular park because it is larger and you have to have voice control of your dog to go there or you may never get the dog back (it's several acres)! There is a smaller fenced in section, but we generally avoid it because it tends to be more crowded. When I see or hear another dog, I leash Saxon up and wait for them to pass before letting him off to play again. This is also the park where Saxon had playdates with Hope the Pit Bull (RIP). If the parks in the other Portland are anything like this park, I have to agree with at least parts of this post. Not all dog parks are created equal.
