Yeah, why Sugar? She doesn't look drivey or high energy in photos, she looks nervous. I have no idea what drew her to Sugar. I have not given anyone updates or info on her personality except here. She is VERY high energy and nervous. But she doesn't know either of these things. Idk if its just simply because of us talking a little about Presas or what. Sugar would never hack it doing anything like this, I even take back my agility comment. Shes far too fearful. She's especially afraid of men.

Heres a little Sugar update. Sugar is curious/fearful of cats. Shes great with other dogs that are respectful- Shes been introduced to Neva (Presa) & Bella (Cocker Spaniel) of my crew...She is much less fearful when they are around her. From taking her outside to go potty it seems as tho she has really good leash manners. She LOVES kids. Kids also perk her up. She is very fearful of men. She will seek Kris but she watches his hands very carefully. If he reaches to to scratch his head or has anything in his hands she drops to the floor & closes her eyes. Definetly has had a bad experience with a man. She has had no acciedents (But Ive also been taking her out a ton & have her on a 2 week shutdown). Sugar is very high energy as of now, you can tell shes been in a kennel for a long time because she will pace in little circles when loose. It seems like she doesnt know what to do with herself. As of now, Im not sure what the ideal home would be for her. I plan on keeping her for awhile before even seeking a home for her. She has a lot of fear & stress (Pacing/Circling) issues that Id like to work thru and Id like her to know all basic commands before placing her in any home. I want her to be solid & stable.

that is great news!! it might take her a few months to start settling in, especially since she has some fear issues of men:( but i am sure you can get her to come around.

first glance of her photos I did not see her to be a pit bull mix. When I go back I can see the malinois as a possibility. You are so awesome. Do you need more blankets for her? I can ask my friend if she has any more.

Thank you CA!! I try to do what I can, which isnt a lot but its at least a lot to her!! If there are more blankets available she would love them!! I could send you money for the shipping & handling via Western Union as well!! She has an old comforter in her crate now because she likes burrowing but itd be easier washing multiple smaller blankets. Christina- She is pitiful. I told Kris to never correct her just distract her if shes ever doing something wrong. I want him to gain her trust. Last night she was in the kitchen with me & he walked in and she peeled out and ran to her crate and was just trembling. He coaxed her out and gave her lots of treats & lovins. I dont want to know what caused her to fear men. I have faith that we can get her to come around. Kris proved to me that not all men are the same, I know he can get Sugar to come around as well.

Sugar has come SOOO far!! I have soo many pictures and videos I need to upload!!!!!! And I will soon. Sugar came to me shutdown & fearful about everything. About a week ago I started noticing little signs that told me she was ready for me to actually start screening homes! She already had 4 people apply for her.... I went thru her apps-- called references, talked to the potential homes and narrowed it down to 2. The first was a young family that had kids but no other dogs. The second was a lady with older kids & grandkids & a pug. I talked to both homes and decided the second home seemed like a better fit for Sugar. I met up with them today and their Pug and it was a hit!!!! I was SOO proud of my Sugar Girl....When I met her she had her tail between her legs and was scared to death of my husband. When we met up with Sarah (Her new Mom)... It was Sarah and her 3 grown kids (2 were MEN) and Sugar greeted them with her tail up and wagging and was at the end of her leash to say Hi!! She also hit it off with their Pug Radar IMMEDIATLEY they were both playing before we left. IDK why Sugar was sooo much harder for me to let go than Twist (That sounds really bad I know). But she was and after they left I cried like a baby. I earned her trust and watched her blossum. I got rather attached to Sugar very quickly..... She is a spirited soul. I sound like a crazy lady when I say this but I saw myself thru her eyes. She was walked on, let down, and pushed away for soo long especially by a man it seems. All she needed was a chance and understanding and BOY did I understand her. When she came into our home, If Kris turned towards her shed run to her crate and tremble..... The past couple weeks, she runs TO him and seeks him out. I took her to Petco last week to see how shed do, she was nervous at first....Then a girl came up and asked to pet her, I gave the girl treats to give to Sugar and Sugar livened up and was fine. Sooo proud of her. She acted like a puppy soo much and had such goofy antics. I will truley miss her ( I think Neva will too...Those 2 got to be pretty good friends).
