Was just contemplating how things have changed since I got into APBTs. I used to SO enjoy breed-specific discussion on the newsgroups, email lists and forums. For the most part now, there are two extremes: the no such breed/no breed trait people - and the old school "never trust a pit bull not to fight"/they enjoy fighting types (like, those with little insight into dog behavior, etc).
Lots of good things have happened for the dogs, don't get me wrong - fight bust dogs regularly getting saved, more social acceptance for the breed, stronger anti BSL movement, better news reporting. It's just sometimes my breed fancier side goes, "WTF man, I just want to have some good ol' bulldawg discussin'"
I do feel like this little forum "gets it" and we have good discussions here, which is why I work so hard to cultivate a different sort of attitude/environment on RPBF vs some of the other forums and/or FB groups. I want people to be able to come here for " a different take".
OH well, onward and progressively upward.... sheep

I thought I replied to this, but I guess I didn't. I know how you feel. I am getting so tired of people calling Saxon a "pittie" even though I explain to them that he is a Stafford. People just don't get it anymore.
ETA: I love Pit Bulls, but that doesn't mean that Saxon is one!!

Of course, just like I like AmBulls, Bull Terriers, etc - but they are not Pit Bulls!!! *sigh*
Good thing I love this breed so much, some times I just want to run back to GSDs.

You cover all the bases without being convoluted. You should have the job of being the official PB ambassador to the world (IMNSHO). Seriously, I think it is rare when someone can write passionately, yet be objective, and not come across as an elitist, arrogant, know it all. I guess that's why you are the RPB!!

and then there are the promoters of what I call "whipPits".. dogs with such huge chests, tiny waists and long tails that they look more like a dog built to chase rabbits than one built to wrestle.
