Roxy and I were at a VALOR agility trial yesterday at JAG in Wall Township, NJ and I wanted to share a video! This is her Beginner Standard run. Roxy is a true testament to the wonders of clicker training and positive training in general. She spent 3+ months in a kennel environment, where she used to hide in the back of her kennel. Prior to that, she was on a long, likely loud, transport from the south and the rest of her history is unknown, aside from have no basic obedience or training (besides house training). Several months (maybe even a year?) after I adopted her, I was also told by the one person who used to spend some time with her that she was actually scared of falling leaves and they stopped bringing her to adoption events because she was too afraid of people.... We started agility to build confidence and never imagined it would turn into this. And we didn't know anything about VALOR agility and it took us a while to find an agility class for dog reactive dogs. But all the time and work we've put into it has been beyond worth it. She is a different dog on the agility course. I mean, she's a different dog in general from when I adopted her, but her confidence is through the roof when we're at agility and it's my favorite activity for her and I to do together

how wonderful! I always read about agility as a confidence-building activity, but it's especially great to hear a real life example.
Good for you and Roxy.
