A few weeks ago, I decided to do the DNA test for fun and we got the results back today!    This bit made me laugh:  In Wisdom Panel's database, the two "closest matching breeds" to the Stafford are the Field Spaniel and the Shih Tzu!? So, it's DNA official!  This little dog:  Actually is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, glad we got that cleared up!  |

I was actually surprised it didn't come back Boston/Bulldog/JRT or something. Probably because Saxon comes from American lines and the SBTs in their database do, as well.

Yeah, he came back all SBT and inexplicably they compared his DNA to the "two closest breeds" in the database... the Shih Tzu and Field Spaniel!

That's cool, Cat! I was sure that Rocky's would come back some kind of mix, but his was 3 gens both sides Am Staff. Big surprise to me.

Yay, Saxon is legitimate LOL! We already knew that though.  I've considered the test for Dharma, just because I'm really really curious what they might have been breeding into those lines. The operation had been around for a while, and was associated with some old fight yards from around the country. Plus, we are convinced that Dharma is part rocket and part pig and we would need some genetic evidence to prove us wrong. |
