Honey is around 17 years old. a terrier/husky mix. her owner was evicted and she is at the shelter... www.petfinder.com/petdetail/25595528im trying to see if i can foster her. the only problem i have is i dont have anyone to let her out during the day. i can put her in a large Xpen in my basement/tv room (no stairs to go out to yard for potty) but i cant see her waiting 9 hours for me to come home. if i can find someone for free that can let her out 2x a day i am considering it. other big issue is she must get along with rufus and sadie. then again at 17 that might not be a problem ... i heard about her today on the hike with Dee, and its just killing me she is 17 and in a shelter. i have dealt with this shelter before so i am familiar with them. so, if i cant foster her is there anyone that can?

Lol...I am picking her up Saturday morning and bringing her home..Rufus is gonna go into shock lol. I just can't see a dog her age staying at the shelter it's not fair. So I am fostering her as a permanent foster lol.

I really really hate to see elder dogs in shelters. So major huge kudos to ME! Eventually I would like to foster older dogs, but not now, my guys are too crazy, and not enough room.

i just wish i had a fence lol... she will have to be leash walked until the fence is up this spring/summer. i just couldnt see her sitting in a shelter, its bad enough when young dogs are in shelters, but old dogs? that is just too much. i was told about her sunday on the hike, i had mentioned once i was settled i was going to do older dog rescue (talking with linda and her foster rott ) and dee mentioned honey. as soon as i heard her age i got really upset and i kept thinking about it. at first i said no, only due to the work we are doing here at the house, but then i just couldnt get her out of my mind. im not special CA, i am just an ordinary person.

I already posted a reply to the special comment but I must have gotten distracted and never submitted it cause it is gone. Anyway I wanted to say that I will call you experienced then instead of special. I could not go there yet and bring that dog home because I have not been there yet and am not ready for it. THen about the fence thing. I suggested going out and getting the fencing that comes on a roll and you hammer the metal stakes in the ground as a temporary yard space where you can let dog out through the back door or wherever. My dad did this when he was renting a small house and it worked great. Can be removed and used for a garden in the future after you get your permanent fence done. I have had this in a part of my yard for 7 years now and it has served well and cant even see its there against the wooded area is the best part. If you want it real sturdy they have the livestock panels at tractor supply think they are about 25-30 each panel and I think they are 16 ft wide.

lol your post didnt hit ... we are getting the fencing from tractor supply its called Field Fencing and the wooden posts from lowes as they are $4 cheaper then tractor supply. for now the dogs are leash walked which is fine. we need a permit to build the fence(stupid in my eyes for a fence) so once we get the fence approval and permit from the town we will start (and when we have extra $$ too lol)

Yeah we need permit too but since the metal posts are not permanent i dont think permit is needed if you make it dog pen likee. I did not get permit for that type fencing eith hammer in post nor did my mom. You can do a small area temporary for cheap that was what i did when first got rocky he had small space just off deck
