That sounds like a pretty great plan to me. Being unhappy in your job, and being lonely in your day to day life, isn't a very good long term mix. I'm experiencing both of those myself.
Hope you find that perfect temporary home soon!

If 2 years of sacrifice will get us an even bigger farm with a yak, and maybe an emu, then I'm game! lol
Maybe I'll name the yak "emu" and the emu "yak".

All you need is some t-posts, electric fence wire, and a charger It's going to be hard, but I will be OK as long as they all go to good homes. I'm trying to think if I know anyone in PA who can board them for me, too. We have till the Spring, so I've got some time with them.

I love Maine, I love living here. I hate Connecticut, I was miserable there. I also have just started making some really good friends, plus I am in school still. And rent is cheaper up here than it is in CT. CT is a very rich state and the poor parts are also the scary parts. I would not be happy there.

Ahhhh...I want to cry!
I found the absolute perfect PA home yesterday. It's in walking distance to my brother's, 5 minutes from my mom's. It's got over 2400 square feet of space, which includes a commercial property on one side of the house. It's beautifully restored with the original dark woodwork, hardwood floors, high ceilings, original light fixtures, modern kitchen, absolutely move in ready. It's been on the market forever, and I could probably get it for around 25K. The problem?
It has NO yard. Nope, not even a foot of outside space besides the concrete sidewalk in front. My heart broke. I was so upset that Jim even looked up indoor pet-a-potty spaces that we could place in the commercial area, or even the basement, for the dogs to potty. Sure, I could throw a few in the car at a time and take them to my bro's or mom's, but that would get old fast. It would not be practical to walk 5 dogs, all separately most likely, onto the sidewalk of downtown 3-4 times a day to potty.
I want to cry.

That really sucks. You need at least a postage stamp size for those middle of the night quick trip. But even that would suck in the long run.

My neighbors suck. So far since they've moved in their kids have broken one of my windows. No proof they did it so replacement is on me. The kids liked to pester my dogs by taunting them outside the window. I ripped their little butts for it. They've had the rooster etc. Why they feel the need to use the side yard so extensively, when they have a huge back yard is beyond me. Now they have two Miniature Pinschers. The first couple of days they were tied up outside all day. Then they bought an outdoor kennel for them. Which is sitting about 7 feet in front of my window. They whine and bark which gets my dogs wound up. When they get home the dogs go crazy whining more, but are ignored. So they escalate.
My dogs, act like nut jobs. Keeping your cool isn't so easy sometimes. If this is what I have to look forward to everyday, I'm going to go insane.

We had new neighbors move in a while ago with 2 kids. They asked me if they could pet my dogs and I said they could only pet George, so they tried to chase my elderly, arthritic, cancer stricken Akita while swatting at her tail while I screamed at them and my neighbor screamed at them.
Now they are constantly outside on bikes an intent on running my dogs over. Before I adopted Matilda, it was just me and George on the walk and the boy was so intent on mowing George over, he forgot I was there and when I screamed at him, he fell off his bike right in front of George.
They zero in on my dogs every time we are outside walking and one of them was so focused on US she ran over other neighborhood KID on her bike

I had issues with some other neighbor kids last year. I finally ripped their little butts and since then they stay out of my yard.
Usually the neighbor puts the dogs inside when it gets dark. Not today. They have done nothing but bark and whine all day, and now they're sounding so upset. Pisses me off. The kids were outside this evening and completely ignored the dogs. Why get two small breed dogs and keep them in a pen. Makes no sense. Currently my curtains are thumb tacked all around the window. I got so pissed off at those dogs, and my dogs and the kids today... It's going to be a long freaking year before I can move if this is what I have to look forward to.

If Matilda was ANYTHING other than a Pit mix, when they tried to clip the dogs, I'd just let her knock them off the bike

a few weeks ago, George or one of the cats knocked my bag off my desk and I turn around and Matilda is happily eating my wallet. I THOUGHT I had located all of my credit cards, but I can't find one, so I had to get on chat with Capitol one and I tell him my card is missing or eaten due to puppy mischief. I guess he HAD to ask, but he asked me if I filed a police report. I told him the police don't want my pit bull puppy. She would only pester the other inmates and she doesn't really like her crate

My coworker and I have a budding romance going. I would have preferred to be single for a little while after ending my relationship with Tim, but life doesn't care about your plans and I am really happy the way things are working out. Plus, he has a Pit Bull.

^ The last relationship I got into was really "bad" timing - I wasn't looking for anything. We're married now Point being, sometimes it just happens and you roll with it!

Sometimes, by the time you walk away from a relationship, it has already been over awhile before it was admitted. Wish you all the best cat, especially some good old happiness!

Was walking to work and saw a woman with an off-leash pitbull (near a very busy street mind you). I said it might be safer put the dog on a leash because all the speeding cars can be very dangerous...and then I was accused of being a pitbull hating b*tch.
Yep lady, you figured me out.

The story would have been better, Sugar, if it ended with...."and then I b*tch slapped her". Headed back to PA this week to check out more places. Two previously pending listings I had my eye on are now back to active after buyers pulled out. One of them is 2 houses in one sale so the yard seems to be a nice size, and backs up to woods. I'd be very tempted to bring a few new dog breeds with me...the "earless baaaaah-ing retrievers" It's zoned residential, but then again, I doubt anyone would report me/care.
