ok note on recipe. .... when usign 3 lbs of chopped meat increase the bacon to 1.5 lbs of bacon. the 1 lb i used i barely tasted the bacon in the burger- so do at least a pound and a half of bacon....
dave we picked an awesome week for great weather for our vacations!!

In like 30 days we will be in Colorado to see The Avert Brother at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Excited to see Co. again and I get to see my sister and kids. Just wish I could take my dogs.

I wish my foster kitten would not do kitten voodoo at night. My glasses are now missing and I am super blind. He has also incurred a huge data overage on my non smart phone and when I called to get data blocked on the phone, I think the guy thought I was so insane, he adjusted the charges off.
He also cued up one of the barricade battles from Les Miz and cranked the volume on my PC and blasted me out of bed at 3am with cannons and trumpets

my vacation is over:( back to work i go tomorrow.. i got so much done here this week and was able to relax and destress from work which was a bonus. only thing i didnt get done was paint all the rest of the rooms in the house.. no paint for that lol... so that will be the next project... today i scraped and painted the shed with a spray gun omg what a dream to do... i am going to paint the rooms in the house this way now its sooo much easier then a paintbrush lol...

Ahhh! Need to vent!
Work is getting to me lately.
I started part time with about 15 hrs a week over three days. Last year I went to 4 days. It wasn't bad because I still had a 3 day weekend and the days weren't too long. Now, though, each day is over 8 hours, sometimes up to 10.5. There are no lunch breaks unless I take them, and then I have to mark down how long I ate. It'd be fine if I didn't have a farm, dogs, a small business, and a deployed husband.
Since I work in a territory far from the office, it's hard for anyone to cover for me if anything happens. The other employees live about 1-2 hours from my territory. If I can't work one day, I have to squeeze in that day's work over my other days (which is not always possible based on yard frequency and location), or do it on Saturday/Sunday.
I'm getting very frustrated that I can't ever take a day off. Most other places, if you're sick, you just call in and they do without you for that day. Nope, not here. If I'm sick today, tomorrow better be 100% because I'm working a double. And with the long hours, it's just not possible to squeeze 16-18 hours into 2 days. Forget it in the winter; it'll be dark by 4:30!
I don't hate my job or my bosses. I know that it's hard to fill my shoes because I'm so far away from everyone. I just feel that I shouldn't be expected to never take a day off because of it.
If we are going to try to move in a year, I don't necessarily want to quit and find something else, yet I don't see any relief coming any time soon. My lower back is jacked up and has been for months. It's not getting any better, especially with them adding houses to my route daily. I'm just frustrated and don't know what to do :/

Sorry Al. Have you tried talking to your boss? I understand it would probably be tough for them to find someone to cover for you and not sure that is even a viable/practical option however, maybe you can appeal to their senses a bit. I mean you have a deployed husband, and a farm, and pets that you are caring for all on your own and you need a little bit more leeway if and when the time should arise.

I'm also supposed to be kicking off a new territory starting soon. I asked about heading that way about 7 months ago, when my days were shorter. Now, though, I don't know how on Earth I'll be able to squeeze it in. They even got me a laptop so that I could eventually do all my own routing and be even more independent than I already am. I'm essentially "a team leader without a team." I love the trust they have in me, that's for sure! I'm thinking that soon I will have to request another team member for when the new territory kicks off.
I've even begun making it crystal clear (by way of soap gifts!) that I have a small business that takes up a lot of my time. I think they didn't realize what I meant by "making soap". So now I'm kind of shoving it in their face that I've got a lot going on and can't do everything by myself :/

I would tell them it's time to either hire someone else to split the territory with you, or you'll have to find employment elsewhere. (ok maybe find a better way to phrase it lol) You're only one person and can only do so much. Especially with Jim deployed, you have a lot more responsibilities at home then you normally would. It's awesome to have great people to work for, but sometimes that isn't enough. Even the best companies can suck the life out of a person.
