I dunno...I don't have much of a problem with this. I wouldn't do it, and think it is stupid, but dogs get numbers tat'd on them for ID purposes, article brought up branding (which IS painful) and people crop/dock for cosmetic reasons which is perfectly legal. Cropping = way worse than a small tattoo on the numbed-out stomach of a sleeping dog.
