I am brand new to this site and have a LOT of questions regarding my best buddy, King. I live in Southern Maryland and wondered if there was a support group? We are not allowed in our two dog parks but there must be somewhere we can go!! any help is appreciated

Hello and welcome! Off the top of my head, the only group I can think of in MD is B'More Dog: bmoredog.org/They are a really great group and I'm sure could help you with anything local you'd need.

King is 3 and my first and only DOG period he is actually my granddog. question. i had him fixed in March (age 2.5) and he is acting crazy -- chewing my shoes (3 pairs) like when he was a puppy. i cant UNFIX him. is this normal? i am very concerned. he is such a good dog (or was) before the surgery. have you heard of this?

My bet is that the behavior you are witnessing has nothing to do with the neuter. He sounds like a normal, young Pit Bull to me. What sort of exercise does he get each day? Mental stimulation? Is he supervised and crated/gated when not? Does he have chew toys and if so how many/what?

he has plenty of chew toys AND the femur bones that he loves but he is isolated to the kitchen area only (and his crate which is open) for 10-12 hours per day. i work in DC and the commute is rough. i did read the dog park thing the other day, thanks for reminding me :/

wake up earlier and exercise him till he is tired. plus exercise at night too. a tired dog= a happy owner.. he needs more exercise, once you solve that things will go back to normal

Yeah, what Maryellen said....he's probably bored and not getting enough physical/mental stimulation.

Agree with the peanut gallery plus he is still fairly young and a lot of pits are high energy dogs!
He is very cute BTW!
