We drove 13 hours round trip (in 1 day - ugh!) to take the ATTS test yesterday in Nor Cal. Man was it hot - I thought it would be typical blustery San Fran weather but it was more inland than I realized - no sun screen or hat - ouchie. WE PASSED!!! Got all 6s but I'm not sure about the scary stranger since Ruby bolted into my knees (hurt my knee) but stopped and didn't continue to run. That actually really surprised me that she did that but at least I know she would likely not defend me if I got attacked, which is fine but you never know until it happens. So we scored 2 positive points for the APBT btwn me and the other APBT I went up with. I thought we would likely pass but you just don't know until you do it - she did jump at the gun shots but never moved a foot - just the same upward jump that I do when startled. Slightly jumped at the umbrella even tho we'd practiced it but didn't care to inspect it like ho hum (not avoidance) so the tester encouraged me to get her to go look at it before we moved on. We had a freaking awesome chief tester who so thoroughly explained things that I really felt confident. And as we went thru the first 2 stations, I could hear her behind me talking to/about Ruby happily saying as Ruby trotted, "You're a pit bull, do you walk anywhere?" and she said something else very positive and similar but I can't remember what it was, dangit.... but that, too, sort of put me at ease so I wasn't over stressed. So pleased not only for ourselves that we passed, but more so to add a couple more positive points for the breed. Sooo proud!
