The title of this really kind of rubs me the wrong way. I don't think you ever have to train a dog to love. Maybe build trust, confidence, etc. But I think the love part comes naturally to dogs.

I agree Mel, the title gave me pause for concern, too. The article itself is pretty objective, though. It's still so weird to me to see how positive fight bust dogs are portrayed now, when even just a few years ago, they were treated like criminals. This article does my heart good.

I worked as a pet food rep for about 4 years and my very first shift a guy came in with a pit bull that was rescued from a fighting ring. The dog had scars ALL over his body. He laid there and let me rub his belly with his tongue out for a good 15 minutes while I chatted with his owner, then got up and gave me a big kiss
