I just don't get why this is so important to them. Why do they think this will help anything?

For the love of God! I am sooo over this whole movement. We get it all dogs are individuals and breed traits don't exist and who cares about breed and so on an so on and so on.

My future new puppy is a redbone coonhound, Australian Shepard mix. The going joke is that the dogs will try hard to tree cattle. I could not imagine breed traits not being an issue. It just doesn't make sense to deny they exist.

Didn't they used to at least concede if the dog was a known purebred of such and such a breed, that we could assume some traits? Sounds like they are not even giving us that much anymore:
"We owe it to all dogs to see them for who they really are, free of prejudice, stereotypes, and assumptions that are based on a known pedigree, a breed label guess, physical appearance, or their past history."
They ALSO want us to IGNORE PAST HISTORY?????

Even more ridiculous that you can't assume some traits if dog is a known purebred. "Assumptions based on a known pedigree" that right there leaves me scratching my head. Someone should really alert the Lab owners that they should not assume that their dogs should be kid friendly!

You can't tell if a dog is purebred UNLESS YOU SEE ITS PEDIGREE. Which is utterly ridiculous. (and partly because a pedigree itself is NO guarantee a dog is purebred).
