Learning your puppies potty habits is a must. So from day one I've kept an eye on Indie. She has done really well over all. I've learned that if there are blankets, or clothes on the floor, those are fair game for squatting. It's also really hard to get my shoes and jacket on in the morning faster than she has to go. So I try and sneak until I'm ready, then I go get her and carry her to the door. Often times she's already used a wee pad. The thing that is a bit baffling to me is her habit of squatting for little tinkles. She'll leave dime to quarter size spots on the wee pad. I call it drive by squatting. She'll go outside, and then during play she'll do it a few times before coming inside.
Is this just part of the learning pattern? I've house trained dogs before, but never really a puppy straight from the mama.
Then there is Cleveland and his possessiveness over toys. It is rearing it's ugly head and I'm trying to manage the dogs around it. Almost all toys are now off limits during free roam. Cleveland gets them and then will guard them. Pretty much anything the pup shows interest in, he tries to get. So I just watch the dogs and how they're behaving and crate and rotate as needed. Cleveland has good days and bad days with the puppy. It's like he can't make up the mind if he should like her or not.

Yup, toys are up. Last night he did something new, he laid in the floor on his side near pup. When she engaged in play he filled to his back. Played about 5 seconds then acted like he forgot who he was and quickly regained his feet and wanted nothing to do with her. So I crated her for awhile. Today is really nice so after work I'm going to walk her then the boys. I am limiting their contact still, but I will keep her apart from Cleveland today.
I'd like to catch them on video but its hard to do and actually "see" what I need to see. One if these evenings when my daughter is home maybe she can do it for me.

Lol sounds like rufus and my new foster. He trys to play with her then realizes he is a jerk and snarks at her for stupid reasons

Talked to my vet today. She doesn't think it's a uti as young as she is. She thinks it's just her being a puppy. But I will keep an eye on it and if it seems to get worse or show other symptoms I'll take her in. S
