My dad and brother are going to come up to Maine in a few weeks and we're all going to get tattoos. Each our own designs, but with our initials, CCS, somewhere on them (I haven't worked out where it will go on mine yet). I'm super excited and am happy that we'll get this bonding experience and have this memory together. I'm planning on getting a ladybug (just a small photorealistic one), my dad is thinking of getting a Japanese sun, and I'm not sure what my brother will get. This is the shop I'm thinking of going to: www.facebook.com/tsunamitattooportlandHere are some examples of the work of the artist I like, Phuc Tran: He's good at insects: I'm thinking of getting it on my wrist or ankle (the attached pictures show an approximate drawing of my future tattoo on my wrist and ankle). What do you think? Wrist or ankle? Attachments:

I think it looks really cute on the ankle... like it's crawling up your foot. Cute!

I like the ankle too, but i would do 2 ladybugs on the ankle area makkng it lok like they are crawljng but that is just me. Is this your first tattoo cat? Or do you have some now? The ankke area can be more sensitive then the wrist on some folks

I love this idea, how cool. That artist does gorgeous work. I would do the ankle too. Just because maybe you wouldn't want something to show below the elbow for a first tattoo. Even though it is small. Just my opinion. My first tattoo was on my ankle, barely felt it but everyone is different. Can't wait to see what you all get!

I like the inside wrist, don't know just looks really nice there. And if for whatever reason (like job interview or whatever) you need to cover it up and well placed watch or bracelet does the trick. It would be cool to incorporate the initials within the ladybug spots.

I like inside the wrist because then I get to see him more and I feel like I could just cover him up with a watch or something. But I think he looks cute on my ankle too, so I'm really torn. I've got some time to think about it, though, so I'll just keep thinking!

Do those with tattoos think that socks and boots would make it difficult for an ankle tattoo to heal? My cousin brought that up and now I'm starting to lean more towards my wrist again.

Cat yours is gojng to be much much smaller then mine so you should be fine. Normally it takes a few days to start to heal so after afew days you can wear boots

That tattoo is small, it should heal fast, I don't think it will be an issue as long as the first few days you try to keep it open and don't let anything rub against it. I'm trying to remember what time of year I got my ankle tattoo. I just know I had no issues and it healed fast.

We're booked in for the 21st! I'm so excited and nervous! WE're going to a different studio from the one I originally hoped, but I really like his work, as well. So I'm still very excited for it! The place is called Fianna Studio: www.facebook.com/FiannaStudio Here are some examples of his work! This one stopped me in my tracks, a coverup of some old scars which look like self injury scars. I've often thought of turning one of my old SI scars into a dragonfly. He's going to get back to me in the next few days with sketches and pricing estimates. I'm so excited to see his sketches and I can't wait for our tattoo day!
