Maybe I'm reading too much into things.. Yesterday I shared a picture with a pug and a pit that said 4/8 was national dog fart awareness day. It was cute, and I didn't give it much thought after that. Today, I log in and notice a post from Victory for Cherry that today 4/8 is national dog fighting awareness day. My brain went hmmm, and I went and looked at the image I had shared. Noticed who originally posted the photo. I deleted the post, because the conclusion/association I drew was not very good. Was the original poster trying to divert attention from a very serious topic? Was it an attempt to mislead those people who may not really understand the reality of dog fighting? Was it an attempt to sweep the "breed that isn't a breed's" past under the carpet like a dirty little secret? Had I realized yesterday who the original poster was, I would not have shared it. The fact that this person posted it, while not surprising, is a slap in the face to dogs like Sedona, Dharma, Dan, Hector, Tilly, and the thousands of dogs who have died or been victimized by this cruel sport. It is irresponsible, and disheartening. The men and women who care for these dogs, after they are rescued, deserve more than a dog fart meme. The dogs deserve more.

ETA: I didn't see your original post above ^ Merged it with this thread. Did anyone else notice last week (I meant to post this earlier but forgot) that on National Dog Fighting Awareness Day, there was also a meme going around called National Dog Farting Awareness Day. I actually kinda snapped at someone who posted it, but found out they weren't aware it was Dog Fighting Awareness they should have been focusing on. I just found it in bad taste and wondered if anyone else was sorta offended by it - and I guess this is going to sound funny, but especially so since Pit Bulls are kinda know for their killer farts. Wonder who started it. Yeah yeah, I'm petty sometimes

Hah, Melonie, it's funny we both thought the same thing (of course, now I'm curious who shared the original post you saw The person who shared it that I saw is a friend of mine). I moved your post into this thread, btw.

I don't think it is coincidence. Not for a second.
