Hello Fellow Dog Owners, I am seeking your support and advice. Caroline County, VA Animal Control has brought 4 felony charges against me. I am being accused of dog fighting. I was the owner of adult pitbulls, 1 8 week old pup, and 1 Cane Corso. All dogs were examined by the VA State Vet, and were found to show no signs of ever having been in a fight. My male was a winning conformation show dog. They are basing their case on the pedigrees of my dogs, magazines/ literature, a parting stick. (I was told this is a great item for responsible dog owners to have) I am facing 20-60 years, for owning ADBA registered pitbulls and their pedigrees. I have a lawyer but I need support/ help from responsible dog owners. If you can help contact me at dhawk_42@ .com Court date June 25, 2014. Thank you

How did this even happen? How or why were they even called out to your property?

Someone in Virginia that knows about the history about the breed. I have never had a run in with animal control, I was told my dog looked to muscular. I showed him. I thought all show dogs, like body builders should be in great shape. Im looking for people who have experience in dealing with show dogs, pedigrees, and or gun ho animal control officers.

Wow that's crazy. I guess you are looking for witnesses for your court case, if I'm reading this correctly?

Still not following how this all came about....what happened leading up to these charges? Animal control saw your dog out and about and said oh it looks too muscular and searched your property?

You need to tell the whiole story from start to finish not just what you want others to see. If the dogs were inspected and were not fought that should be good enough. No one can help you with a 1/4 of information

I'm kind of not getting what the history of the breed has to do with your situation. Presumably the charges against you are animal-cruelty related. IF you were mistreating your dogs, history won't help you. You're innocent until proven guilty... they have to prove whatever they charged you with. That's in today, not the past.

I'm sorry to hear that. If this story is true, then that's really terrible. Maybe you can ask your personal vet to be a witness? They might be able to show them your vet records to prove you keep your dogs healthy and in good shape, and that there have never been any bite wounds, etc. on your dog. And that you care about your dog in general.
I'm not sure how what you're asking for is going to help, however.
I hope that you win this case if you've been treating your dogs right.
