I'm so tempted, I love snakes. I'd never buy one but adoption is something I'd consider. I have no where to put a tank, though. And what do ball pythons eat? I don't think I could do the live mice thing.

They do eat mice. It sucks because you can't just toss it in and walk away. You have to be sure the snake will eat it. If it isn't hungry, or doesn't want that 'color' of rat/mouse, it won't eat. Then the rodent might bite the snake, which leads to other problems. That was the hardest thing to me to handle when I had my Boa. When he was little and still eating pinkies, I just got them frozen from the pet store. When he moved up to rats it got harder. It was recommended that I stun them, for safety. But I couldn't. I used a sturdy pair of tongs to grasp it by the tail and lower it in, hold it until he grabbed it. When my first hubs and I got married, he got a python from a friend. It was 6-7ft at the time and ate large rats. It killed him to have to stun them before he gave them to King. I sure as hell couldn't do it!

my coworker said it eats rats. it comes with its tank, so you need tofind a spot for a big tank. i would have taken it but i cant feed it live rats.. iknow some folks feed frozen ones and let them gget to room temperature, but like melonie said the snake has to not be picky..
