It's 75 degrees, cloudy and rainy. You see a dog in a car with the windows rolled up.
What would you do?

Reason I asked: A girl I know posted about finding a dog in this situation. She called the cops and they handled it. I told her she did the right thing, while other people told her she should have just broke the window. In the end I won the conversation. I told everyone on the thread to stop and think about what they're doing before they react. Had the car window been broken out, she would have been ticketed and fined, and the dog owner would have driven away with their dog. Had the dog been not stranger friendly she could have also been bitten. I have issues w/ vigilante b.s.

And if she had broken the window, she could not only have been charged with a crime... she could have been sued for damages. Calling the police was correct. Vigilantism is rarely a good solution
