River is One Now

River turned a year old on Sept. 10th.
It has been a hell of a year.
But we made it. I do still threaten to re-home her often. But I won't, she is Kaihas best friend. She is amazingly good with her. Probably because they're both equally naughty.
When my daughter moves into a place where dogs are allowed, she will take over ownership of River.
Two days ago River went into her first heat. It's not that bad thankfully. She'll be fixed in about 6-8 weeks. Hopping that might curb some of her energy. My luck it'll only escalate!
She is very sweet, very goofy, and still hard to train. She's smart, but so pig headed.
The main difference between the pit bull as a breed and this dog... the pit is eager to please, River could care less. All she wants is what she wants!

Spoke too soon about the heat thing. It's been a bit messy today, so she has a pair of aryns old undies on. lol

River sounds like the kind of dog that should have her own adventure show, with a segment called "How to make mommy mad in 2 easy steps or less!"

I remember our first rottie when she went into heat...had to follow her with cleaner spray and carpet cleaner...do not miss that. We used to tape a maxi pad on the inside of a pair of underpants to keep things a little cleaner

I dug around and found an old pair of my daughters undies. I cut a hole for her tale and then shoved paper towel in them. lol No pads in the house unfortunately. I need to run over to my daughters and steal a pair of Kai's undies. River is rather small so I had to rubber band the panties. lol

I think River and Aimee's dog Stan would make a fabulous pair for a tv show. One of these days I will catch her doing her meerkat impression. She's a dork.
