Monday I start a new job in Lincoln, which is about 225 miles away from where I currently live.
I'll be staying with my sister until I can find a place to live. My daughter Aryn will stay here with the dogs. Once I find a house I'll move my stuff and Winston and Cleveland. River will be staying behind with Aryn.
Aryn leaves for college in June. (in Florida), then my daughter Megan will be moving in and keeping River for as long as she lives here. By that time Kaiha will likely freak if Megan doesn't keep her when she moves. Either way she'll stay in the family one way or the other. I just can't re-home her. She's shaping up to be a fantastic little demon.
The canine dynamics between the three dogs is improving. When River hits her hyper part of the day I crate the boys so she can be crazy with her toys and me. Once she burns it off a bit then I add Cleveland and they play for a while. Once she calms down I have had all three dogs out. They nap or patrol the yard in twos and at night I've begun sleeping with all three dogs. Crating Winston in my bedroom away from River has helped a bit too. He started destroying his bedding in his kennel so I started putting him in my room. He doesn't tear up my room or get into anything in the bathroom.
I'm wondering if the destruction was a result of his frustration with her?
While I'm gone, they'll go back on a stricter rotation which is easier for Aryn to handle and ultimately the only dog that doesn't like it is River. Once I move it'll be nice to allow my boys to have their toys and chews again.
And I'm sure River will enjoy access to her toys as well.
