Easter eggers lay all colors of Easter, i just found out one lays purple eggs... Its now on my list to find lol
I also have been getting a pinkish one too..
On the chicken forum I'm one someone is getting grey eggs to from breeding an olive egger to a purple egger.. Its all in the genetics- super complicated ...

You need one of those black chickens that lay black-shelled eggs.

I've already looked into them, mary they are all black- skin, feathers, eggs.... Very rare and pricey. I've been talking to a breeder out west who has his own line he is perfecting Its an ayem cemani- looks fake. But is real.

The dogs get some in their dinners, some coworkers buy some, bill brings some to work for his coworkers, and i have a few friends that buy too.. Once warm weather hits i will put a stand on the front lawn with a cooler with eggs for sale.. I should get 11 a day once they all start laying and warmer weather. If i need more i buy from my neighbor as she gets 26 eggs a week lol

thumbsupI'm back to being vegan, but I LOVE eggs. The only time I think I'd "cheat" is in a case like this, where I knew exactly where the chickens came from and how they were treated. There is a farm down the shore similarly where I would eat their eggs. Store bought eggs, no no.
I still cannot figure out why a vegan would be opposed to eating eggs in a situation like this?
Not to highjack the threat! My point was even as a born again vegan I can appreciate the production of these eggs!
