Many years ago, when I first got my first rescues, I was so elated about adding new members to the family that I wanted to share my excitement with the whole World.
I did my homework assiduously, with commitment and with joy. In fact, I worked at this for over a year before I brought home the first dog.
To share my joy, I joined every Pit Bull forum and discussion group and contributed as much and as enthusiastically as I could.
In my naïveté, I didn't reckon with my own lack of experience or the blackened souls of insane people who have inveigled their deceptive and ill-intentioned personas in ALL the major discussion groups.
To what purpose, you ask? To further denigrate the dogs we love, to cite humor and discussion out of context so that what is seen is exactly opposite to what was discussed, to obtain "proof" as to the "monstrosity" of our dogs - whom they called MUTANTS - by showing pictures, again completely out of context, and advance their personal agendas which, invariably, lead to requesting "donations" or becoming (in)famous. They desire, no! they CRAVE visibility on the Internet. Unsurprisingly, it's all done to parlay this very harmful behavior into... you guessed it, MONEY. Toward that goal, they will say anything, about anybody, anywhere. So far, with impunity. Things may change! :-)
Even in the face of incontrovertible evidence that their position is untenable, they continue to cherry-pick sensational "data" and continue to "sell" garbage to all who care to listen. Even the most monstrous people in the world have had acolytes, so no wonder that these corrupt, mentally ill people have their own choir of bootlicking sycophants.
There are only a handful of lynnites. To this tiny, but highly vocal group, you and I are sociopaths, criminals, monsters, nutters... They want to eradicate ALL Pit Bulls off the surface of the Earth. There is some solace in that there are MILLIONS of us who love our dogs, who put out reputation on the line to rescue them, to bring them to health, to cherish them, to have them for companions.
But I warn you! Unless you want to be quoted, muddied, dragged through the miasma of blogs and the sites of some truly evil people, do watch what you are saying. Nowadays, identifying somebody on a forum is not that difficult.
