River hasn't done well living as a single dog. The girls begged me to get another dog for her. Hoping thus will inspire her to go outside again and auit hiding behind the sofa. Sent from my SM-G730V using proboards

I contacted Paws Up Nebraska about a dog they had on petfinder. He was a bull breed mix hunk of a cute dog. He was actually going to his adoptive home the next day. But there was another dog that fit my criteria, (dog/kid/cat friendly, no resource guarding issues with toys or food, laid back, and not high energy, but still playful) so they passed my info on. Turns put the dog was in Mo. He was living with his family when the dad went to jail. Child protective services went to check up on the family and the mother was given the option of losing her kids or getting rid of that pit bull. He ended up in a high kill shelter somewhere around Monett, Mo. He and one other pit passed the temperament test and a rescue was allowed to pull them. He was in foster, but the foster home was getting ready to go on a previously arranged cruise. So they were trying to find him another spot. Thats when I came into the picture. He's around 2 yrs old, was recently fixed. He's easy going, and obedient. Young enough to play and have fun, dog, kid, and cat friendly. He didn't get to really meet Winston because he's (Winnie) not feeling the best, and he's on prednisone and just not his usual self. They did meet through the baby gate, and Cash was excited to go be with him. He was wiggly and happy and did the play bow etc. He's on a modified 2 wee shut down since he's had so much disruption in the last month. He did get to meet River last night and they played briefly in the yard. Before that River was acting odd, like she was afraid to approach the crate he was in. But yet trying to play, and he was trying to play as well. Afterwards he took a nap and she chilled. I really like him, he's a mush. He did well with Kaiha and my nephew who is 15mos old. I just hope this helps River. She's a nutcase on a good day.

My daughter sent me a video of Cash and River during playtime. He has a different play style than my boys did, although he'd fit in with Winston. He likes to shove his butt into Rivers side, jump around and butt her again. It's a bit comical, and they do engage in bitey face games. It sounds like he's adjusting well and so is River. He's still going through a shut down, just modified to allow for more supervised play time for both dogs.
