Last week we had a dog fight that resulted in a trip to the vet for Cash. I could have taken Winston, but I was able to get pain pills and antibiotics for him. All three dogs are fine, but Cash took a beating. Rivers resource guarding is the source of friction. Winnie and cash have no such issues. River and Cash can be together, Cash and Winston can be together, but not Winston and River. I am hoping to find a rescue that can take her, because I am done. But I'm not giving up. She's a sweet mental dog. She's not a dominant dog but she'll fight for a dropped cheese wrapper, knocking anyone aside to reach it, snarling and snapping at the dog who might be in her way. I've been working on leave it with her in hopes it'll help. Difficult thing is that you never know what she's going to claim. Hopefully I can find a place for her that can help her find the right home because my home isn't the right one for her. We're on a crate and rotate regimen for the next little while. No one is allowed outside together, and no one gets to wrestle. Cash had multiple bite wounds to his leg, a few were very deep. Multiple minor bites on his neck (from River) Winstons ears took a beating, the left ear that has a ematoma last year is full of blood. Hoping it goes down as he heals. If not he'll have to have it fixed again. He also took a pretty deep bite to his shoulder minor bites to his muzzle, and bruised his rear leg some how. River was just covered in their blood and one superficial bite mark. Sent from my SGP561 using proboards Attachments:

Omg she did all that damage to them????? You definitely need some sort of relief.. what about a basket muzzle to help? I hope you find a good home for her. Resource guarding is a royal pain, I deal with it with Rufus so I feel your pain

No, Winston did that to Cash, the bite wounds to the back of their necks are from her. Unlike the fights between Winston and Cleveland, wher they would latch on to each other, and not let go, both C& W would bite and release. Neither latched on. As soon as they'd separate, River jumps in and re-ignites it. Cash was trying to get away and Winston would go after him. I was finally Ablett grab Winstons neck scruff and haul him to a crate.
Yesterday River got ahold of an EOS lip balm. She ran from me when I tried to get it back. I liter had to reach in her mouth and pry it out, and as I got ahold of it she tried to bite it back out of my hand. I know a lot of behavior issues result in poor/lack training and human error. But I think a dogs genetic nature and breed plays a part as well. It took me a day to get Cash to sit at the door when we go outside. I'm still trying to get River to do that. Give me a pit any day!

Sounds like she Def is not wired right.. you have had her since a pup so it's not like you starved her so there is no reason she is resource guarding.. it's gonna be really hard for a rescue to take her, most don't want dogs with issues especially resource guarding.
Once you rehome her don't get another dog, let Winston and cash be just the two of them, their dynamics are better that way

No worries on getting another dog anytime soon. I would love a frenchie or an sbt, but my hearts not ready. Cash is my daughter Megans dog, so where she goes, he goes. Once that happens I'll likely get another dog, since Winnie does really enjoy having dog friends. But I'll adopt an older dog for sure.
