Hi Everyone, Didn't know where can I share my feelings so I ended up here - only you guys would understand me. We will be moving to Boston this August for my wife's PhD, I started looking for apartments in most of the sites out there, it seems that big old USA has some issues both with pets and specifically with pit-bulls. performing a wide query brings me back lets say 100 apartments that could fit, selecting a dog a pet leaves about 35 places, where ALL of them restrict sizes and breeds - what the hell? I mean even places that does not mention any breed restrictions - usually mention it at a later stage of the communication. We own a 10 year old pit bull mix - and it seems this is the only thing separating us from finding an apartment. We dont mind paying more, we dont mind keeping him muzzled where needed, we dont mind to pay for the insurance ourselves, can you please advise what is the best way finding apartments which is pitbull friendly ? (Boston area) Currently we live in Israel, you can find in two minutes a place to live, no one would ask you anything and what kind of breed do you have - this is why this is so unusual to us. please help us ! photo of him about 8 years ago

It's so difficult in the big cities/suburbs renting with any dog over 20 lbs. It's a matter of looking looking and looking some more. Try to go for the private landlords, too. They will be more likely to consider on a case by case basis instead of having to conform to rules/laws of the condo/apartment complex.
Keep us posted.

I wanted to mention, too, join Facebook groups for the area you are looking that are pet-related. A friend of mine just found a Pit Bull friendly rental in PA by posting her story/needs on a dog group. Word of mouth is the best help for finding places.
