I know there was a thread recently discussing how our dogs seem to get into trouble (i.e. hurt themselves) often. Some of you know about Luca's recent ordeal with the corncob surgery. Now he seems to have hurt his front left leg/shoulder falling off the bed. Right now, I'm not rushing him to the vet only because he's had 'mystery lameness' on this leg his entire life and it is often aggrevated by exercise or, yes, falling off the bed. It just seems worse this time around, so I'm keeping a close watch on it. But seriously, it seems no matter how much of a mama hen I am, this dog still manages to hurt hisself!

Poor baby!! Murphy hurt his leg falling off the couch a few years ago...I felt like a jerk b/c I was sitting right next to him and I couldn't stop it. He just rolled right off the couch, and when he got up he was holding up his leg. Luckily it was just a strain/bruise and it healed with rest. I hope Luca heals up quickly too!

A dogs gonna do what a dogs gonna do. I know all too well how much they can hurt themselves. I had to have Meadows Dew Claws removed when she was a pup so she wouldnt tear them in the thick brush! I hope Luca gets better soon and that its nothing major!!

:-( Poor baby... We've been lucky with Karma so far... no serious injuries or mishaps. I hope it's nothing serious with your boy and that he's feeling better very soon.

The little bratface is doing better, but he's still sore. It is next to impossible to keep this one quiet.

Cajun came up lame one day and I watched him for a couple of days before taking him to the vet. I swore he threw out his shoulder but xrays exposed a bone chip in him wrist. Nothing to do for it....but pay a big bill.
Also when he was 10 weeks old he began acting lethargic after a raw meaty bone meal...rushed him to the er vet (not the one I use now) and I got a big huge lecture about why I shouldn't feed raw. Vet eventual;y came back to inform me that Caj was most likely stung inside his mouth by a wasp.
