I just got a disturbing email from a volunteer of Popcorn Park Zoo in Forked River NJ. They have two Pit Bulls in their 'shelter' that are going to be euth'd to make room for Shar Pei puppies (?????!!!). Boy and a girl. Have about a day to live, but possibly the shelter will hold them if it looks like someone may be able to help. The shelter says they are dog aggro, yet they are being kenneled in the same run together (good grief).
Just passing the info along; I was pretty disgusted when I read the reasons why these dogs are being euthed. I never knew PPZ even HAD a shelter, I always thought they were supposed to be a sanctuary for unwanted animals of all types. I guess Pit Bulls aren't on that list. Email me if by any chance you can reach out and help these puppers.

No, this has been going back and forth through emails since yesterday. This is due to the fact that PPZ is taking in all those dogs from that kennel in Howell. I emailed the executive offices to verify, haven't heard back yet. People are kinda p*ssed off about all this, as you can well imagine.....

The Pit Bulls? Cuz I got an email from the director who just said the Pit Bulls were still AT the shelter but didn't specify whether or not they would be PTS. I bowed out of the whole thing because it sounded like a bunch of bureaucratic bulls*t and it was IMPOSSIBLE to keep up with the many people who were shooting emails back and forth to each other. Conflicting stories all around. The original email stated the dogs had been in Tinton Falls.
