We have two 7 month old male pits (brothers). They are both altered and have had standard obedience training. We use to take them frequently to the park when they were younger and they would play with two older female pits. The last time we took them all they wanted to do was fight the other Pits they use to play friendly with and we had to take them home. They are already 70 lbs. and will get bigger. We would like to be able to take them to the park to play without the worry of them attacking other dogs. What would be the best solution for this type of aggression?

They are only 7 months and already 70 pounds? These are purebred Pit Bulls? Ok, where to start......... What sort of park are you taking them to? Off leash dog parks are not recommended for this breed. Also, it is very common for Pit Bulls to develop dog-directed aggression. You may find as your boys get older that playing with other dogs may not be an option. In fact, I'd be really concerned about your two dogs ending up fighting with each other. Same age, same sex, maturing at the same time.....this is a dicey situation, especially since they are both already demonstrating dog-aggressive behaviors. I'm going to suggest you do some basic reading first, as this is MEGA important breed-foundation stuff - then feel free to ask any questions you want: www.realpitbull.com/pitsnpets.htmlwww.realpitbull.com/parks.htmlwww.realpitbull.com/ownership.html

Dog Aggression is very common in "pit bulls", and it can surface at any time. Sounds like it might have just surfaced in your dogs. Remember to keep your two dogs separated when not supervised.
