Oh my...some people should be shot. Peanuts?! WTF? She's in good care now and I can't wait to watch her transformation. I hope she stays as sweet as she is now. What are the marks on her rear beside her tail? Are those pestules or just missing hair, hard to tell in the pix.

Well, she's only in the shelter right now so she's not entirely out of the woods yet. From what Kat was telling me, those sores are like bed sores from having no meat on her bones and laying on hard surfaces all the time.
I hope we can help her but Kat is willing to send her along to a qualified rescue if someone else is interested.

I know y'all... it makes me sick to think that this poor girl survived on peanuts and lord only knows what else. We actually renamed her "Peanut" because she does have such an interesting story to tell. She is SO sweet! We did her work up today, and all she cared about was that she was getting attention. She's very playful and just a happy and bouncy sweet sweet dog. So far not an ounce of ANY sort of aggression. I've put her through the ringer with food, poking, pinching, stepping on toes, pulling her tail... she lets us look in her mouth and do anything else we need to do. All she has to "say" about this is... "bring it on and show me the love". She's a GREAT ear nibbler/kisser and a huge wiggle butt. There was a REALLY annoying kid out there this afternoon with a couple of volunteers. This kid was running around like a loon and Peanut just waited patiently for "her turn" to be coddled and scratched. (We politely asked these folks to leave after the girl let one of our dogs out of her kennel, inside thankfully.) I've got more pics and a couple of videos to share with y'all... but I need to get them home first so I can edit them a bit. I'll try to get them posted tomorrow. And yes... I am TOTALLY open to sending her to a qualified rescue if anyone here is interested/willing to help this lovely girl.

K, I got a couple of short videos of her while we were doing her work up but I only manged to get 2 up on photobucket yesterday and this is the best one of the 2... (yeah, blah blah blah lol) She's so playful! This video doesn't even begin to show her personality.

Could no one was feeding her at all, so she ate peanuts that someone left out for the squirrels. Aiden used to eat the peanuts our neighbor put out and the squirrels dropped over the fence, but the silly boy shelled them somehow, so luckily we didn't have that lovely stool.
(As a side note, I know at least one of the Hill's Prescription Diets used peanut hulls as an ingredient. I think it was one of the weight formulas. One more reason why I don't like Hills/Science Diet.)

Oh - she is a love! I can't wait to see her with another 10 or 15 pounds on to cover up those ribs. I love how she was bouncing in the one part of the video!! You know - I would make a horrible dog - if someone treated me like that I would not want anything to do with another human - and here is proof that dogs are more capable of unconditional love and forgiveness than any other species. Oh, I hope you find a perfect home for that girl - she deserves to be a queen!
