Wow, this is getting to be too much with these people. Since when are they a governing agency? Law enforcement? Government body or funded?? This is nothing more than a rogue agency....

Gawd thats a lot of paper work to complain about one Pup. Why wouldn't you call the cops if you thought there was a puppy mill anyways.

Nice thing about just going through shelters is just avoiding all this craziness.

Yes the hsus is a rogue agency , stealing all the donations meant for service to the animals.. they really dont care and they side with Peta..................... they need to be brought down

What the heck is this! Does this mean anyone with a grudge against a breeder can file a complaint - the HSUS with their millions of dollars can swoop down and 'save the day'??

It's more than scary! And people just keep movin' right along with their support of this org. Totally reasonable, normal people who, if they had more info, would probably pull their support. But I notice the hardcore HSUS supporters are getting weirder and weirder. I had one person by the name of "Pit Bull Lover" posting comments on my blog - I checked his/her profile and it said something like, "Huge supporter of HSUS". The comments this person was leaving on my blog prompted me to change the settings to must-approve before allowing comments to be posted. Stuff this person said included:

*Springpoles ALWAYS indicated dog fighting activity
*I only care about Leo [as a fight bust dog] but don't care about any other fight bust dogs
*I promote dog fighting
*Refused to respond to my question, "How do you reconcile your support of HSUS which wants to kill fight bust survivors with your supposed 'love' of Pit Bulls?"

This was in response to my springpole blog, btw. Oy.

Dog Breeder Says Home "Raided," Must Pay Almost $900 In Fees

An East Brainerd Chihuahua breeder said her home was "raided" by officers
from the McKamey Animal Trust and she was required to pay almost $900 in
fees.

Terry Boydston appeared before members of the City Council along with
McKamey official Steve Mayo on Tuesday.

Ms. Boydston keeps 13 chihuahuas inside her home on Skyline Drive, including
eight that are "breeders."

She said on a Sunday morning "three trucks pulled up with six men. I was
scared to death. The neighbors were all looking. They thought I was being
raided."

Ms. Boydston said she treats her dogs well and keeps meticulous records. She
said she grooms the dogs for show appearances.
She said she only sold one puppy last year, but will have to pay extra fees
because that put her in the category of a dog dealer. She said she was also
classified as a dog breeder and as a multiple pet owner.

She said she had to pay the almost $900 and that will be an annual expense.
She said she may have to sell more puppies in order to be able to pay the
fee.

Ms. Boydston said she maintains a website that is mainly devoted to telling
others how to properly care for their pets.

Mr. Mayo said McKamey officials are concerned about "puppy mills," though he
said Ms. Boydston turned out to be "an exception as far as the care of her
animals. Her dogs are in great shape."

He said there were 78 ads in that day's newspaper by dog dealers.

Mr. Mayo said some dog dealers are cruel to their animals and his agency is
trying to be "pro-active" to find such cases.

Council members asked McKamey officials to consider whether there may be
some duplication in fees and whether they should be so high on Ms. Boydston.

Councilwoman Carol Berz said, "There is a difference between a puppy mill
and a dog breeder, and I think that our law does not differentiate enough."

well, she is a multiple pet owner, so that comment she made doesnt fly.. any more then 1 is multiple..

as far as why they targeted her, who knows, but i would be pissed and get an attorney..
