Okie Dokie: Many of you already know his story, for those who don't Guinness was picked up as a stray in north Alabama for roaming, returned to his owners then reported roaming again. The next time animal control was called, they went out to pick him up and found him being attacked by a Cocker Spaniel. His owners didn't come get him this time and he was so lovely, the shelter contacted us (Bama Bully Rescue) and we were able to evaluate him and pull him into a foster home. He seems to be about 3-4 years old, not neutered (though he will be) is heavy load heartworm positive and will start treatment soon. He also has a few other minor issues, eye tearing, infection in the testicles (that even makes the girls wince) some skin issues, though nothing seems chronic. Temperament wise...BOMBPROOF so far. No dog aggression on any level and he's had plenty of exposure. No resource guarding though he is a land shark and has no in-home manners. He's a love. Someone likely paid a pretty penny for him as he would be considered a "wide n low" type bully. This boy's head is massive! His reaction to someone new entering the yard! Look at that tail Pressure sores - but notice the blur of a tail More skin issues... Learning to take treats nicely...this boy is a landshark! More pix to come!

Awwww........ poor guy. He's pretty nicely built for a ''bully''. Maybe he wasn't ''bully'' enough for his owner hence their lack of care for him. Probably wasn't enough of a money maker. :/

Guinness is doing great! He's a flirt and has been playing with a few of the resident dogs, even prompted some Dobe spins from one of his foster's personal dogs. He's gotten along great with the resident female Doberman, male Doberman, female Great Dane and Yeti, the beagle/dachshund x BBR also has listed. He's gotten very comfortable in his crate and is happy to make the rounds, greeting the other crated dogs on his way outside. He has a whirligig tail and happy greetings to all dogs, boarders, male or female. G is learning to wait at doors (he previously would plow through your legs) an easy task for this brute. We'll be getting an estimate on his heartworm treatment soon and I'll be sure to post about his medical stuff. Thanks for asking, I'll be staying overnight tomorrow to house/dog sit and will get some new pictures of him to share.

LOL! I was over there most of the day and now home walking Jazz and Mac and about to head back over there. I did take pictures of him out with a couple of Dobermans, a Great Dane and Yeti, the beagle/doxie x we have listed and Guinness has absolutely no issues with any of them. His tail never stopped wagging and I will try to load some pix later. Also, this boy is vocal at times (usually when protesting being crated when others are out) and boy does he have a range! He whines and whimpers and sounds like he's dying or like Chewbacca. Certainly if someone heard him but didn't know what he looked like, they'd be , he sounds pitiful with a capital pathetic!

Yeti luffs him! Eatin' some ribs...notice the tail! It's non-stop. Kissy the Dobe wasn't growling at him, she was gnawing a bone. Striking He loves raw meat & bones! More to come, I didn't get many good shots at all since he wouldn't stay still and my camera has major lag time...

Awww Guinness! He is amazing. I wouldn't imagine him being vocal by looking at him, but that's cute.

An update: Guinness is still doing wonderful being the big love that he is. He has now however started his heartworm treatment and while the vet has been gracious enough to allow us a discount, it is still a hefty bill that we will have to pay for. BBR has created a fundable, so if you could please pass his story along we would be quite thankful for that!! The link actually lets you e-mail, myspace, facebook, etc right from the page! www.fundable.com/groupactions/groupaction.2009-04-27.0009546219
