Another that BBR really wants to help, he's in my local shelter here in Calhoun Co. He is PRECIOUS and I would love if we could save him.
Meet Tig, an 11 month old American Bulldog (mix?) in need of a foster home!! He's currently being housed at a County shelter in Alabama but they are EXTREMELY overcrowded and can not hold him long. He's also in danger of catching diseases and/or getting sick.
This guy was picked up on Feb. 10th, with a collar and 2008 Rabies tag. The owner was called but obviously does not care for Tig or want him back, as he won't return phone calls and it has been nearly a month.
A full temperament evaluation was done and Tig showed no issues. Of course, he's in a shelter environment so new things are sure to be learned about him once he's in a foster home. He didn't show much interest in the cats (even when they were hissing and clawing), and was playfully interested in the ferrets. He might do well in a home with cats or small dogs, although this was not tested extensively. He was tested with another dog his size. He showed playful interest when the other dog was brought into view, tail wagging. After they were allowed to sniff each other, they did not initiate play but there were no issues between the two- they simply walked around each other, interested in other things.
Tig is a cute, squishy guy. During his evaluation, he was not over the top/hyper, but would play back with me when I initiated play. He had no problems with a lot of increased physical manipulation. He was not fearful of any loud noises (clinging bowls, etc) and was very quick to investigate. He seems like an all-around good guy who just needs a home where he can learn basic manners and obedience.
Please - let's get him out of the shelter! He deserves it! All we need is a foster home!

His pictures don't do him justice. They were taken with a cell phone, plus he was filthy!
