This is Ninja. I got a call from owners of this dog who live in Camden. They have no money for surgery for this sweet sweet boy. I went over their story about how the dog got injured and examined the spot it got injured and measured the trajectory of hole to the fence and it is legit.
The dog was running with the child of house and dog ripped his shoulder open on a nail/bolt attached to a fence!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Vet also said it is a definite rip, not a cut or any type of cruelty issue.
This pit is a VERY VERY SWEET dog and lives in a clean home in camden with people who are loving but they just don't have the money to pay for the surgery.
This wound needs to be stitched immediately as it happened last night. The owners have made EIGHT phone calls to eight different "rescue" groups (they gave me name of every rescue they called and it was none of this email list) and no one called them back).
I could NOT leave this dog in Camden and took him to the vet.
The hole or rip is at LEAST nine inches long. As it is, there is not even enough skin to cover the hole. It is hanging off.
The owners agreed to neuter at same time.
The owners don't have the money and NJAFA just spent several thousand on the last five pits we saved since December (with help from our friends at Pinups)!!!!
If anyone can give anything we would appreciate it. The only choice for these owners was to euth which they begged me not to do (of course with their permission) If you would prefer to give straight to vet would appreciate that also.
Ninja is very very sweet and the family does love the dog. I was at the home and this dog does not deserve to die, it has a good loving home but like everyone in hard times there is no money for a catastrophe likes this.
Thanks again to everyone.
