So today My roommate and I took Lucy to the dog park. she played for a bit and it was PACKED so I decided to take her to a secluded spot by the river to swim. She swam for a bit and played with a few other dogs that were at that spot, one she's known since they were 2 months old, which is irrelevant except that I think it was cute. Anyway, she got so gross and muddy and full of river stink so we decided to lay in the grass for a bit to dry off before getting back in the car. I had a hell of a time getting her to settle down because there were a million dogs running by and she still wanted to play. So I decided to do some commands for tricks to distract her a bit. Wouldn't you know it she rolled over. She actually did it when I told her to lay down so just when I caught her doing it I said "Yes! Roll Over!" So now she knows it. She did it 6 times at the park with a million distractions! Now I just have to CT it and hopefully it would be embedded in her brain lol. I can't even believe how long I have been trying to shape her into this and she just hasn't done it. I thought it was hopeless.

Wow, awesome! Good job, Lucy! Ya know, you can use the word 'yes!' just like a clicker - it can work the same way. It's what I use to 'mark' behaviors after I've weaned a dog off the clicker for a specific behavior. Just an FYI.
