Yes, dogs will fight each other, same sex and opposite sex.

It is true that male dogs will fight a female dog ; it gets much more serious with same sex dogs living together but it does not always have to be although it is best to keep one male and one female coexiting in the same environment, hostility depends on temper even though both dogs fare well together...... my little muffin chloe who is a half poodle somethng terrier is the female , she is alpha to towering mountain of a dog , my male yogi, they get along fabulously.....yogi would not dare to snatch a cookie or a bone from chloe , he either waits for his own cookie or big baby simply begs me for his own cookie..... llol, in all of my four years having yogi , there has never been a fight .... I am blessed with a sweet tempered dog but still no matter how fine a dog is, they must always be supervised as I have been doing since yogi came into my life at 2 months old.....

The only fight that Omelet has been in since he's been with us was with our female. She chewed him up.
Of course, my female is a little gender confused already. She hikes her leg to pee just like the boys do.

sorry it took me a while to answer. my friend has an Amstaff - male, which is the best friend of my dog. The Amstaff, is about 1.5 old, castrated from the age of 6 months. (mine isnt) there are playing everyday for at least half an hour of running. we have an non friendly Boxer female, 7 years old. she is always attacking each one of them, even when they are alone, but usually she only "shows" like, and never really attacks. we were walking the dogs, and we saw her, they werent fighting, but then the Amstaff, took - i guess something that the Boxer "owned" i guess a stone, or a stick, the boxer is very "item jealous", so she attacked him. he never fights, and never had a fight before. as soon as my dog heard the noise - after 2 seconds, the boxer was in Bush's mouth... and i took some time to open his mouth. 1. Stupid PPL letting their aggressive dogs walk off leash. 2. Male can fight with Female, if the circumstances right. 3. It is as hard as ppl say, it is not easy to open their mouth. this is Bush and Meysi
