A quick question on something my Eddie has been doing. I am not sure if this is typical Pit Bull behavior, but when he hears a noise or sees a wild animal (like the crazy squirrel I have running in my yard) Edzo will lift is one front paw, crouch a bit and point with his nose. If you can picture the stereotypical hunting dog from a WB cartoon you will have an idea of what he is doing. Is this common among other people's pit bulls, or should I have Eddie checked to see if he is a cartoon?

LOL.... your dog probabl has hunting dog mixed into his heritage , perhaps pointer.....pitbulls certainly surprise us with what ever they do as being funny etc.... they are smart , way too smart...my yogi points to the door when my cat wants to come in, I can not hear her meows;Iam deaf so he is my doorman and yes he goes to the door and points with his nose .....nothing to worry about ,its normal behavior. By the way welcome to the real pitbull forum.............

Pointing is essentially stalking/prey behavior, which any dog can potentially do. for whatever reason, it's in Eddie's behavioral repertoir. I had a little terrier mix that used to point.

Thanks for the answers.
I always thought they had to be trained to do things like that, but I now know different.
