I have noticed a few stray dog posts. Some saying they think of keeping or finding a home. However I was wondering what the right thing to do is. I have only had 2 dogs ever stray around my house. Once I called police as it was weekend police usually want you to call animal control but they came and got this dog that was clearly someones pet cause he was wearing a bandana but no collar. The other dog was a husky and just as animal control showed up the owner came driving down the street looking for his dog. But now that i see people may hold onto a stray dog it kinds of concerns me that if Rocky ever got out without his collar someone might think to claim him for them self. If Rocky turned up missing I would call the local shelters first thing. Although if Rocky was out I would hope someone would hang out with him for a little in the hopes I could find him before he had to spend the night in Doggy jail. Is there a way to have a dog scanned to see if they have a micro chip before they are taken away by animal control?

you can bring any dog to the local vets office and have it scanned for a microchip, thats what the shelters will hopefully do too once the dog arrives..
