My coworker has rescued a deaf boxer pup and really needs to find a place for him. He can't stay at her house because she has a DA pit bull dog. I already contacted Blue Ridge Boxer rescue but there is no phone number so I am a bit sketched out by them. What is a good way to find a reputable breed specific rescue? I did a google search but a lot of the stuff that came up didn't seem legit. It's really hard to tell on the interweb.
The dog is located in western NC if that helps and needs out of his situation fast.

We don't have a phone number listed on any of our sites, because we operate out of foster homes. So I wouldn't hold that against them. Check out their pics of adoptables and happy tails. Look at the dog's medical condition (mangy, hair loss, skinny..etc) Check out their expressions- happy? fearful? Where are the dogs living? Indoors in fosters, or in outdoor pens. Also, I prefer rescues that have pictures of them at events, but that's just me. Shows they are out and about. www.deafdogs.org/rescue/usa/www.deafdogs.org/rescue/usa/ncnd.html#NC Blue Ridge does have a phone number listed here. www.paw-rescue.org/choose.html

still no response from this BRBR. Any other suggestions? I really wish this girl had internet access so she could look around. I am glad I can help but I have never seen the dog and know little about him. I feel so bad he's a little over a year and back living on a chain because there is just nowhere for him to go.

BRBR has no room right now. Try Four Seasons Boxer Rescue. fourseasonsboxerrescue.com/Contact.phpAnd please don't hold it against people for hiding phone numbers lol. I'd never get anything done if our number was listed on our website. And absolutely get pictures of this dog to send in your inquiries.

Also, use petfinder.com to your advantage. Do a search for boxers near the zip code of your friend to find groups that do take them in and contact them for assistance as well. Good luck!

You might also want to contac tthe deaf dog action groups, to see if they know of anyone with openings. The dog might have to travel further, but it's an option.

I just think it's weird to be so unapproachable. I have talked to rescues before and always got quick responses. I feel like they don't even want to put forth an effort to help, which is a bad rescue IMO. I have nothing to do with this dog and I just want to help him get into a better situation and I told them if they didn't have room, what their suggestions would be, but yah, no response. When I was talking to boston terrier rescues I got same day responses and the numbers were always listed.
TBH, I don't think anyone is willing to take this dog far. I would but I don't have a license or a car so it's out of the question. The girl that I work with who told me about him isn't even out of work during the times when she can call the local rescues around here.
Sorry to be harsh about it, but it's frustrating. I am trying to put in an effort to help this guy and I am getting absolutely nowhere.
I'll check with a deaf dog group.

Some rescues are willing to provide transport, and volunteer transports are always an option.
