I absolutely love my Raw Dog Leather leash......the finest leather leash I have ever owned. Tough as nails, too. Raw Dog makes custom collars, and has a unique leather martingale (haven't tried that one yet). Check 'em out! www.rawdogleather.com

The company I bought my collars from went out of business, but everyone I know keeps recommending the following: www.collarmania.com - I believe they also will do fundraisers with rescues. and www.blockydogs.com

They're not to my taste. I really don't like very wide collars, nor very decorated ones. I like these guys very simple collars with metal quick release buckles www.cetaceacorp.com/collars-c54.htmlThey made me a chain martingale with a metal quick release buckle.

Also, www.fancynancys.com/dog_collars.htmI have a 1.5 in quick release collar from them for Luca that I really like. I use it to hold his ID. (wouldn't trust any plastic quick-release on a bulldog ;D)

www.huntsmart.com has awesome leather collars starting at $15 Rufus has 5 collars from them and they are made quite well. regarding Collarmania collars, they make them in whatever thickness size you want, from half inch to 2 inch collars, and they do plain collars as well as fancy. lisa will custom any collar to your liking.

I've bought several from them.. they have a nice leather choke also. Very well made and reasonably priced. After about 6 years, I finally retired the cloth martingales after one too many people sneered at them for being "ratty" ;D

My pups have the single-row and the adults have the double-row. These collars hold up really well...through salt water, snow, biting and chewing...they still look great! Plus my bf and our friends ride, so they get a kick out of the Harley logos

Ok dumb question! What is a quick release collar? I haven't found any collars in my local area that are worth the money spent on them. I guess I need to check else where on some the recommended sites! Also when measuring your dog for a collar where do you measure at the widest point down toward the shoulders? ???

Quick release is the kind that you press either side and it pops open. Really popular in pet store collars, and usually plastic.
I always measure about midway down the neck, at the thickest point.

THANKS! Ok I've seen those quick relase collars at the chain pet stores and they look super cheap and WEAK! Can those really be used on a bully?

THANKS! Ok I've seen those quick relase collars at the chain pet stores and they look super cheap and WEAK! Can those really be used on a bully? No, they aren't strong enough. I will use a quick release to hold tags (some nylon, quick release collars are really pretty), but I won't snap a leash onto it. I use Blocky Dogs and CollarMania collars for heavier duty walking purposes.

I ordered a custom leather collar from Collar Mania yesterday! I am so excited to get it! I am truly amazed by how many different options there are. I already know I am going to be ordering more from Collar Mania.

www.lupinepet.com/These collars and leads can be replaced for free even if they get chewed. I love them. I've seen them sold at our humane society and also at a few pet stores.
