Hi all, RPB is raising funds to help cover foster expences for a dog named Sugar. This dog was basically dumped by the people in rescue who were supposed to be caring for her. The rescue who is technically in legal possession of her is about to close its doors, want to euth Sugar, and the foster mom has taken this dog in (at extreme personal inconvenience due to the fact that she is a) extremely financially strapped, and b) has 3 rescues already in a small apartment). I'm not sure if RPB will absorb this dog if the other rescue goes under before she is placed, but for now we are trying to support her foster mom and raise funds. The foster is caring for her, and will continue to do so supported or not - the dog is receiving excellent care at this time. But as an org, RPB fel compelled to lend a hand, even a small one. Feel free to pass this around: blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=4573367&blogId=522953497

Mary, how would you prefer donations to be made? Through the RPB website?

There is a Chip-In at the above link, which would be the best way. Or else you can donate directly through the RPB website and just make a note that the donation is for Sugar.
Thank you so much, Suzi.

Hi Mary were is Sugar Located?? The reason I ask is that my husband and I have good size home 2400sqft with a nicely fencend in back yard....we have our 2 pibbles and have been thinking of adding a 3rd baby. I would happily take her in as a foster with lots of room for her and lots of love to give...I would love to foster her and keep her forever if she fits with the rest of the family. I really want ot help!!!!!!!

Hi Amanda, Sugar is in NJ. I am not sure if her foster mom is willing to do out of state. Sugar also needs to be in a home with no other dogs, most likely.

Ok we live in Texas I just read the post and thought I'd help if I could. And we have plenty of room for another baby. We tried the shelter approach and have not had much success they are not Pit friendly and can't seem to find many rescues around here. There are quite a few in Houston and Austin but we live closer to oklahoma. If you hear of any we can help please don't hestiate to ask...I love to foster it's such a huge reward.

What does Sugar need? Does she need food? Supplies? Vet care? What is the funding for? Maybe I can help.
Does she need to be listed on Petfinder?
Please let me know. You can also e-mail me more info. SunraysPitBulls@aol.com

Right now, she needs a crate (we want to get her a side-door crate that costs $60). Also just normal care (food, vet care, etc). She does need to be listed on PetFinder.

I could make a pad for that crate out of fabric that has been donated to me to make pads for shelter dogs.

just know that it is not going to be super pretty as these bed crate pads are made from donated fabric scraps and stuffing as well as they are sewn together quickly and not the straightest stitch cause the dogs just like to be warm not caring about color or matching.

I can post her on my site, no problem. Just have something typed up with contact info and location. I can take this picture and use it. I will see if I can find any of those crates cheap.... She is stunning

CA, don't worry about it, anything is appreciated! And will be lovely because it comes from the heart. Sonya, I'm going to talk to her foster mom about putting something together. That would be AWESOME. She is doing very well, and has been getting along with another female dog - so I think in the RIGHT home, with the right match, she could be with another dog (although I wouldn't suggest a female). We are mailing out a check today, thanks to donations made.
