I don't know if this story is already here somewhere, but I saw this girl's story on FB and it really touched me. Especially with the huge influx of dogs-in-need I see around the holidays. Just thought I'd post it if anyone can help/ would be interested. The story is (in a nut shell): This girl was thrown from a cliff, into water, fought her way out, and survived for days on a ledge until rescue came. They found her in a catatonic state. There was also evidence of abuse for 'the fun of it' on her body. She is now full of life and has been waiting for her forever home since last April I believe. There have been no takers yet (not much interest). Here is her story, complete with news article and a journal/diary someone has been keeping of her: www.northmecklenburganimalrescue.org/id274.htmlAnd here is her video: It never ceases to AMAZE me what these dogs, and this breed in particular, go through with humans, and still manage to come through shining like brilliant gems. There is no love like a pitties love. It truly is unconditional.

The post i saw was from Indy Pit Crew on FB. This is what they posted along with the link to her info:
"As a 6 month old puppy, Hope was tortured, starved and thrown multiple stories to what someone assumed would be her death, landing in a rock quarry filled with 100 feet of water. She fought for her life, defied the odds, and clung to a teeny ledge until firefighters found and saved her. Hope was unresponsive and basically catatonic at that point, with holes in her toes where she'd ripped entire toenails out in an effort to save herself. North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue agreed to take her in after several weeks of limited progress with another rescue group who tried their best. She came to live with Gunny, Oscar and the cats in hope that they could reach her. Well, reach her they did. She quickly showed us her amazing personality....happy, funny, playful, gentle, smart, and goofy. No one would guess her history if they met her now. She has been in a foster home since April 2009, with little to no interest from adopters, despite her love of dogs, cats, kids and people in general, and despite her intelligence and knowledge of basic obedience, house training and crate training. Although located in North Carolina, North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue will do out of state adoptions when knowledgeable forever homes are available."

I read this story and the blog the other day and was almost in tears. What this poor girl went through was awful! I will be praying she finds her forever home. She deserves it!
