I can send you a pic!!!! HI! My name is Anya!! As you can tell I am very beautiful. I am 1 1/2 years old, and need someone to take care of me. My foster parents found me starved and alone. They were nice enough to take me in and get me better, but unfortunately they are unable to keep me, will you please help? I have been to the veterinarian and got my shots. I have also been tested for Heartworms and Parasites, and both of those tests came back negative, thank goodness!!! The vet says that I am 90% Pit-Bull but I have not got a mean bone in my body! I am a very active dog!!! It really hurts my feelings that people think I am mean just because of my breed .ƒ¼. I have not been spayed, but if you need me to be I¡¦m sure we can work something out with my foster parents!!!! I really NEED someone that can give me LOTS of love, care and attention, I am sure that we would be very happy together!!!!!!
FOR MORE INFORMTAION ABOUT ME OR ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE CALL MY FOSTER MOMMY (AMIEE) AT (937-638-2678) I WOULD LOVE TO MEET YOU!
P.S we have been given a strict time frame to find her a home and I don 't want to send her to the pound

I really need help to find her a home! I don't know what else to do. Our local shelter will kill her and my inlaws (the people I live with) have given me only two days to get rid of her!!!!!! PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They need to renew the homeowners insurance and don't want to have to insure her!!!!!! I am at my whits end!!! All the shelters in my area are either full or never return my phone calls. I am trying to do my best to protect her from the way that the law is labeling her. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!! I don't know one thing about pit bulls, what it takes or costs to insure them, nothing!! I would really appreciate a quick response from someone, please ask anyone and everyone you know!!!
Thank you, Amiee

Hi Aimee, Thanks for you concern for this poor dog. Sadly, more often times than not, there is no place to put Pit Bulls - rescues are full, shelters are at capacity or will simply euthanize the dog. Ohio is an especially place for Pit Bulls. I'm not sure you have many options here. PBRC.net lists many rescues. I cannot vouch for the ethics of any of the rescues on their site, but perhaps you'll find someone who can help you: pbrc.net/webapp/cgi-bin/orgs_by_state.cgi/6c0952d0d5fc50d1b81e49c9f1e0d167The reality you may have to prepare yourself for, however, is humane euthanasia at the hands of a veterinarian which is ultimately much more merciful than one of many other potential fates this dog may have had.

What are your feelings on the subject, what would you do?

What are your feelings on the subject, what would you do? I cannot tell you what I would do, because I am not you. Your situation could be very different from my own. But if you took the dog in as a "foster" and are now realizing you cannot keep her, I would say the onus is on you do to what you need to do to try to help place her in a safe, responsible home or another rescue situation - for instance, maybe offer to pay your in-laws the additional cost of insuring the dog so you can keep her until you can place her in a permanent home. Other than that, there are things worse than death, IMO. But I'd hate to see a "rescued" dog be killed because the person who rescued her suddenly has no place to put her.
