We are currently searching for a good dog bed for Jess so she stops sneaking into bed with us at night! I'm not looking to spend a hundred bucks but I do want something comfy and with sides so she can rest her head on it. Also, I don't want to go too cheap and end up wasting my money on an uncomfortable bed that she doesn't want anything to do with. Does anyone have a bed that they LOVE or a good place to look? I would also just like to add a little thanks to the entire forum. Often times, internet communities can be snobbish and believe that there is such thing as a stupid question. I have read a ton of threads and I have not seen that once here. Everyone here is so respectful of others and gives, honest yet tactful advice! Thank you so much for making everyone feel welcome!

So funny that you mentioned that. My boyfriend and I JUST got done talking about how we should just have his mom make one for us! She has made huge floor pillows in the past and they would be perfect for our purposes. If we need any extra help, I'll let you know!

Rocky looks adorable!!!!! Awwwww! I think trying to make your own is your best bet. Dog beds are so expensive and even the expensive ones are not that soft - I added padding to both of my dog's beds (cut up a foam matress topper). I have this bed, which my dog likes but it is NOT as cushy as it looks in the pic and I put foam under it: www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=16657It is a pretty bed, though, less than 100 bux, and has the side which is nice and cozy. And I'm glad you are finding the forum helpful. We try really hard to be welcoming and to answer any and all questions. I think one of the worst things you can do to a person is make them feel stupid or bad for asking a question.

Ok the following website was the first bed I was going to try to make but the 3 way piece not available at local stores have to order. www.columbusdogconnection.com/elevated_dog_beds.htm Then I found the next site which is what I used but I did not make the angle leg type and I think there was a typo you can figure out which elbow you need. I also modified the sizing to get the most out of a 10ft length of pvc which the website above gives you. www.berkersdogbeds.com/makeyourowndogbed.htmlHowever when looking for the instructions came across the website below which seems like it has some good ideas. sharlaitdanes.com/PVC_Dog_Bed.htmlI bought all my pvc at lowes as they seemed to have what I needed where home depot did not also I did NOT use the glue I only screwed self tap screws in the pvc ONLY. this way cover easy to remove.

I may actually modify Rockys bed some day to the 3rd website I posted giving another side to sew on the fabric so It is firmer less of a hammock style although he just loves his bed so for now I will leave it be.

Wow that is cheap, I wonder what the quality of the foam is? I want a big, thick ortho bed for Luca. Right now he is doubled up on cut up foam mattress topper and dog beds.
